My name is Cara Drogus. Dogs have had me for as long as I can remember. I got my first newf, Max, almost five years ago. The family has grown since then to include five other newfs.

I have always loved dogs and had a passion for everything that I could learn about them. I grew up in a family that always promoted my love of dogs. We had multiple dogs at a time and as far as I was concerned they were just as much a part of the family as anyone.

New Day Newfs came about when I divorced my husband. I got the better end of the deal because I got all the dogs. I figured that something good had to come out of what I was going through. So with the help of my sister we came up with the name New Day. It comes from what Ive learned sharing my life with newfs. Everyday is a new day, one to be cherished. Every new day is the best day in the eyes of a newf. To honor that quality, I decided we had to be New Day Newfoundlands.

I look forward to spending the rest of my life with Newfoundlands. They are such a major part of my life. They make life happier and definately more interesting on a daily basis. Newfs aren't my whole life, but they make my life whole.
